“Your Notes” is a place for you to share your notes of appreciation — or, if you’d rather not share the actual note, just tell us about the person you appreciate. What did they do and what do you appreciate about them?
This page is also a place for you to come for inspiration from other people’s notes. When people share their notes and stories, the good feelings spread far beyond the original recipient, and many people will be inspired to also share appreciation.
And to help inspire even more people, all notes and stories posted on this page will be considered for publication in a book about the Note Project. If your note or story is selected, we will contact you, and you will receive two free copies of the book — one for you, and one for the person you appreciate!
Please scroll down to the “Comments” box to add your note or story. Be sure to read some of the other notes and stories along the way!

Dear Susie and Nancy,
You two have been my best friends for well over 30 yrs.
It’s not that you’ve stood by me every time I screwed up or disappointed loved ones…its that you were always just around the corner if I had needed you…and that you always came back when I’d changed my ways.
You have been my biggest cheerleaders and believed in me when my own confidence fell short.
You are ones who make me smile and laugh uncontrollably at the silliest of things.
You are my comfort zone and my ego-meter…keeping me in check and making me feel loved…unconditionally, even when you don’t like me.
THAT is true testament to friendship.
You have taught me how to support, love and cherish others and how to move forward in the face of tragedy. You have given me the tools to life lessons. Your compassion and heart is always appreciated and not taken for granted. I would not be who I am without you today. And yes, that’s a good thing….
Love,
T
To my father, James, who taught me from an early age that reading makes you a better writer and expands your vision of the world.
To my mother, Alta, who taught me to appreciate nature and all its creatures, and that loving my Self allows me to love all others.
To my siblings, nieces and nephew, who teach me that unconditional Love is the life-force of the Universe and blessed are we to be together as family.
To my Life-friends, David & Xuyen, we remain Infinite & True to Heart across years, miles and lifetimes. I will not let you fall.
To my Panda – All Ways & Always – you are the Light of My Heart. Our future is brilliant.
You were a constant in my life when everything was unstable due to my dad’s illness. Thank you so much Fushia, for being there for me as a child. Thank you for your kindness, your honesty, and all of your hard work. Thank you for your smile of acceptance and your patience. You were a very kind and gentle lady. I will never forget you.
Dear Alla,
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find the right words to express my appreciation. The only thing I can come up with is I thank you for purifying my soul with your angelic touch. you are the only person who can see through me and dig out the best of me. I thank you for I know that if the whole world turns it’s back to me you won’t.
Forever yours,
Israa

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for just being you and letting me express myself however I want to. There are many parents out there who try and control their children, which you never do. You stand by me no matter what I choose and offer your advice here or there. You do nothing but try ot set me on the right path, and I’m so grateful for that. Thank you so much, I love you.

Dear Mrs. Castlegrande;
Thank you for teaching me about art in elementary school, and showing me what ill have to do for the career i wish to choose. Thank you for taking the time out of you day to talk to me about my future, and showing me around the school. Lastly, thank you for taking a look at sketches i have done and telling me about them.
Your former student; Patrick
Dear Erin Lawless,
To demonstrate my appreciation for all you have done for me, I can only show in words for now. Thank you for being my best friend. But many people say they have best friends and say they can say 1,000 reasons how they are you best friends, but you have shown me with your actions over just the last 10 months. Thank you for supporting me and being one person I can and did open up to for the few tough times I’ve had and all my little stresses in life. For not to many people have actually got the full Alex Matay you have and you know just what to do to relieve my stress and make me laugh.
Alex Matay
Dear zecly,
I love you with all my heart. Where getting so close to each other and I’m enjoying the ride with you. I love the fact that your there for me when every ones against me trying to see me break down to there knees. Being with you I feel like I can be me I’m easy to be influence but your helping me understand that I have my own plan for my life and my own opinion on things. I can see the way that people take advantage of me. I wouldn’t be able to see this without your help. I appreciate that you tell what you feel and for being you most of all. Everything you’ve gone through has molded you into the person you are today and your not done getting molded yet there’s allot of life left. I would say I know how it feels but I can’t honestly say that because I’m not in your shoes. What I can say is that I’ve been in a somewhat similar place ass you have in the past. Your strong, independent, and mature for your age. I’m happy to know tht I can spend my teenage years with you instead of any one else. We know when were crossing the line of having too much fun and it’s hard to stop but we do. The way yourself up for the people you love opens my perspective on how I treat my loved ones. Your a genuine person and truly an amazing person to be with. I’ve never had a friend that actually gives me there point of view and opinion but I like that about you because I can see multiple ways to double think things. One thing I hate is that your 95%rite when it come knowing rite from wrong and it bothers me but it helps at the same time. Thank you Zecly.
Dear Bro,
I am thrilled to the core that you read my book and it touched you. That alone validates the whole thing for me. Actually, the writing of it was the cake, the publishing of it was the frosting, and your appreciation is the blazing candles on top.
It’s a revelation to me that siblings grow up believing they know their brothers and sisters about as well as anyone can know anybody else. They probably do, but they know each other as children. And then life experiences happen and changes evolve. I feel like the same person I was at, say, age 12, but am I? Something of that girl remains I’m sure, but the resemblance of my character of today to the 12-yr-old me is probably as accurate as the physical resemblance. Odd. Who are we anyway? And what are we doing here?
I posted your tequila label on our fridge, but now I wish I had run right out and bought a bottle. I know what I’d be doing right now if I had — even if it is only 10 AM! So imagine that I am lifting a tall, slim shotglass of Maestro Dobel Diamond and proposing a toast to us — getting to know each other better every day.
Love, Sista
Last but not least, Dear Mrs. Warren;
