Celebrate Summer at These St. Augustine, FL Festivals and Events

St. Augustine is not only the oldest city in the contiguous United States, it is among the most beautiful. This city holds many festivals and events throughout the summer months for its visitors to enjoy. Among the most popular are musical events and sailing tours, and the following is just a sampling of several which welcome guests of all ages.
Music by the Sea
Celebrating its 16th anniversary, Music by the Sea occurs on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm from May 16th through September 12th, 2018 and is located at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier on St. Augustine Beach. This event features performances by various local artists, as well as food available for purchase by a different restaurant each week. Taking place rain or shine, admission is free, and the price for meals is $10 or less. Food is served at 6 pm and the music begins at 7 pm.

Schooner Freedom Full Moon Sail
Enjoy the beautiful scenic landscape of St. Augustine while sailing the waters of Matanzas Bay on the night of the full moon each month between March and December of 2018 aboard a 19th-century tall ship replica, Schooner Freedom. Currently, the cost of this tour is $40 per person (a $5 discount is available when paid for with cash) and includes live music as well as complimentary wine, beer, and soda. Furthermore, these tours last one hour and fifteen minutes and depart from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina between 6:45 and 8:45. There are several places to stay right near the marina for easy access to the Schooner Freedom, like the Victorian House Bed & Breakfast.

Music in the Park Summer Concert Series
This event occurs on select Saturdays from April through August of 2018 and is located at Anastasia State Park, where guests of all ages are welcome. Open mic sessions begin at 5 pm with concerts held by local artists beginning at 6 pm. The concerts are free with paid admission to the park, which costs $8 per vehicle for up to 8 people, $4 for a vehicle with one person, and $2 for bicyclists or pedestrians. The Island Beach Grill offers a full menu of food and drinks along with specials which are available during the concert.

Fins and Freedom
Guests learn all about dolphins in their natural habitat, as well as conservation efforts taking place to protect them while sailing with experts from Marineland aboard the Schooner Freedom. Often, dolphins are spotted swimming in the ocean waters during this event, and tourists are encouraged to ask any questions they may have about these beautiful ocean creatures. Departing from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, the cost of admission is $60 for adults and $45 for children 16 and under. Complimentary water, beer, soda, and wine are available during the tour. As these tours take place on various Fridays in 2018 from March through September, the full schedule is available online. Also included in the tour cost is admission to Marineland, which guests can visit upon completion of the sail.
